Mindy ZhangPoet and translator Mindy Zhang will be the featured artist at the Laurie Okuma Memorial Reading on March 5 at 7 p.m. in Room LL430 of the SDSU Library. The reading is free and open to everyone.

Zhang is the author of five collections of poetry and one collection of essays in Chinese. She has translated many American and European poets into Chinese and published in journals in China. Her book-length translation includes Selected Poems of Ha Jin, The Writer as Migrant, Missed Time, and Dancing in Odessa. Zhang currently resides in Los Angeles, where she is the editor of Poetry East West, a bilingual literary magazine.

If you didn’t attend one of our magic lantern shows on February 14, you really missed something wonderful! Music, stories, horns and tamborines, and fantastic colored slides provided by the American Magic-Lantern Theater! Room LL108 was packed for both performances, with standing room only for the 7 pm show. Below are a few photos from the event.
